Rep. Alan Grayson blocked by Republicans from Naming the Dead That They and "Democrats" like TAB Pelosi and Weak Kneed Reid have Aided in Killing

UPDATED AT END
Many of the Republicans and their supporters have and still claim that no one dies because of the lack of health care in America. When Rep. Alan Grayson starts naming those who have died because of lack of health care on the floor of the House, a Republican tries to get him to yield, failing that he uses a procedure to force the House into recess. Which just goes to prove, when it comes to facts, Republicans and their supporters would rather not hear them.

Rep. Grayson has created a site for those who have died because they lack Health Insurance.
This is one of your fellow Humans who died.
Adam Perry, Age 28 years, His Teacher Claudia Dunagan writes:
"Adam Perry was my student. He was a young man who, after years of struggling, had just discovered what he wanted to do with his life. He found that he had a talent for graphic design and worked endlessly to perfect his designs. During the last semester I taught him, I noticed that he would sit in a very odd position while working at the computer. Eventually I found out that he sat that way to ease the pain he was feeling in his back. Because he had no health insurance, he didn't have it checked. Instead, he self-diagnosed it as a back injury due to work. Adam graduated with so much promise in June 2002. Five months after he graduated, one of his classmates came to tell me that he had been diagnosed with stage four liver cancer. All I could think was "No, not Adam. Not Adam, who had just found his path. Not Adam who had worked so hard. Not Adam who had suffered so much already. Life was too, too cruel." I remember my first visit to the hospital. Adam told us, with fear in his eyes, that he was going to beat this. But not many beat stage four cancer, and he knew it. However, he could have beat testicular cancer, the cancer that doctors ultimately determined was the origin of the cancer. I was one of many who visited Adam over the next few months as he went through horrendous suffering. He desperately, desperately wanted to live. I will never forget the agonizing, disbelieving, wrenching pain in this young man's voice when he called to tell me that he had been told he had less than a month to live.

He died early one morning in late May, almost exactly a month later. Later that day a huge double rainbow stretched across the sky. All of us who saw it felt that somehow the universe had noted his passing. Less than a year after Adam graduated with so much promise, he was dead. At the time, I kept thinking "How cruel life can be." But it was not life. It was a cruel, cruel country and a cruel, cruel legislature that denies basic health care to everyone, no matter what their income or full-time job status. Early diagnosis could have saved this young man's life. He died NEEDLESSLY at 28 years of age. The irony is that because Adam had no health insurance and no income, the state paid all of his bills. The total must have been well over a million dollars, if not more. Shame on Congress if they do not address the waste of lives and of money created by our lack of public health care. "

Human says: Testicular Cancer has a 99% survivability rate. When someone from the Sick Far Right says they are Pro Life, please tell them about Adam. Maybe they'll stop and think.

You can also share your own story there about someone you knew who died.

UPDATE
In response to the following article written by one of those arrested , I called Speaker Pelosi's office. I was treated very rudely and they kept switching me to a message machine. Though I did leave a message, I wanted to talk to someone. Not an outrageous demand? Speaker Pelosi has subverted any advancement in Health Care reform. She continues to support the slaughter of innocents in Iraq and Afghanistan. She continues to support the rape of the Middle Class by the Loan and Banking Industries. She has broken her promise to Rep. Weiner on Single Payer. She and Reid are Traitors to the Party and the Country. Without the support of Pelosi and Reid, the Republicans would be powerless.
Here's that Fucking Traitor American Bitch's #202-225-0100

Pelosi Arrested Us for Asking for Healthcare
By Dan Hodges
"Around 3PM this afternoon I was one of 12 single payer activists who were escorted from the reception area of Nancy Pelosi's office in the San Francisco Federal Building and arrested by members of the Federal Protection Service of U.S. Homeland Security.

Just before noon we went to Pelosi's office to ask Dan Bernal, the district director, make a phone call either to Pelosi herself or Terri McCullough, Pelosi's chief of staff in Washington. We wanted to directly communicate two demands: that the Kucinich amendment be included in the health care bill that will soon be brought to a vote in the House and that the Weiner amendment be voted on by the House, as previously promised by Pelosi.

For two hours Bernal refused to meet with any of us. Then he called in the police and had them arrange for a meeting with himself and three of us in the reception area. The doors between the reception area and the hallway were closed. Two policemen stayed in the room. The other activists and other police stood outside the closed doors in the hallway. Instead of working out how a call could be made so that we could discuss our demands, Bernal promptly and brusquely said he'd just listen to what we wanted and then all of us had to leave the building. As soon as we said that wasn't why we had agreed to the police's conditions to meet with him, Bernal broke off the meeting, left the reception area and went back inside the locked doors to his office.

Then the police took us from Pelosi's office on the second floor to the basement, where they processed our arrests. Because Bernal was too cowardly to file an official complaint, an elaborate charade was worked out by Bernal, building management and the Federal Protection Service. The misdemeanor charged against all of us was based on a technicality: our singing and chanting for single payer was not in accord with the rules and regulations of the federal building. This technicality was then extended to mean that we had "disobeyed" the police officers. We were issued citations and told that we would be summoned to court later. Then we were dismissed from the building.

From noon until we emerged from the basement with our citations in hand, there was a spirited rally for single payer taking place across the street. The demonstrators included a large contingent of members of the California School Employees Association, some of whom had come from Sacramento and Stockton. The rally also included members of California Nurses Association and Single Payer Now.

The "Pelosi Twelve" are members of organizations such as ActforSinglePayer, AFSCME District Council 57, California Alliance of Retired Americans, California School Employees Association, Gray Panthers, and Health Care for All-California.

All of us today, those who were arrested and those who rallied in support of us, will keep fighting to get the Kucinich amendment in the House health care bill. And we'll keep fighting to win single payer in California and the nation. Republicans, Blue Dog Democrats or sell-out Democrats, like Nancy Pelosi, will not prevent us from succeeding.

Although the Kucinich amendment was not included in the Manager’s amendment, the Weiner amendment probably will be offered for a House vote, according to Ellen Shaffer.

The exclusion of the Kucinich amendment is not fatal to our efforts for single payer in California. After all, we worked hard and placed Sen. Sheila Kuehl’s SB 840 on the governor’s desk twice without a state waiver in effect. We’ll move Sen. Mark Leno’s SB 810 to this governor’s desk and to that of the next governor without the Kucinich amendment in whatever bill Obama signs. ERISA or no, we’re going to get single payer achieved in California and the nation.

While it would be easy to focus our contempt on Pelosi, the word is that only Lynn Woolsey in the Progressive Caucus supported Kucinich’s amendment to the end. In any event, as we all know, our capacity to succeed is fundamentally based on our grassroots power.

Now it’s up to us to redouble our efforts to build a bigger, stronger and more diverse single payer movement.

And we will win."
This is the vid that confirms TAB's promise to Rep. Weiner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

48 and so Blessed that it's hard to ask for anything. But if I could this is where I want to be right now. It's 24/7 coverage. And as I write(11:30pm) it's sunrise there. I've recorded over 40 hours on realplayer and I ain't going to stop.

In other earth shattering news I've picked up my old you tube channel again. Originally I just wanted to post family vids and such. Sad to say the sickos came and I pulled the vids of my son and nephew. You can read the comment section on my channel to see what danger there is. Now I'm just going to do political, nature and funny type stuff. Since I've only posted 3 vids in total I'm pretty much a newbie. Except for commenting! :)
Here's my new vid -

This report was made before Alan Grayson became a Congressman. He was the lead attorney exposing war profiteering by Halliburton, Custer Battles and others. Rep. Grayson has been fighting the good fight for a while now. His recent media exposure as an outspoken opponent of the Republican agenda is not abstract. He has teamed up with Rep. Ron Paul to audit the fed and stop the racket that is the Federal Reserve. He's called out fellow Democrats including President Obama. The GOP has targeted Rep. Grayson. I'm one of many who got his back. But just remember what the sick bastards did to Max Cleland. There's a Money Bomb set to drop on the GOP Nov. 2nd. from the good ship http://www.congressmanwithguts.com/ My wife and I sent 10 bucks. Until we have public funded elections fund raising will remain a must. If you are able, please help send a big message to the GOP and Weak Kneed Reid &Co.

And congratulations to Robert Rouse on his new place, Freeze Dried Gray Matter. Well worth your click and time.

I'll also link youtube friends and subscriptions soon. Right now I'm going to watch some wildlife in Africa and nod off. I also noticed that I probably set a record on my blog with the number of "I"s "I'll"s and such on this post. Heck it's my birthday and I can be totally self centered for a hour or so. I I I I I. ME ME ME ME. ME. ALL ABOUT ME....

Peace. To me. Forever.

REPUBLICANS WORKING AND CHEERING AGAINST AMERICA

Doesn't surprise me. They've been against everything America stands for since President(the elected kind) Eisenhower left office. I don't call them the Sick Far Right for nothing.

Rep. Grayson was interviewed on MSNBC by Daivid Shuster. In addition to answering questions on the subject of Health Care, he was asked about the Republicans celebrating America's defeat on being picked for the 2012 Olympics.

"Someone should remind them what team they're really on"

JUST THE GUY WE NEED TO CLEAN UP CONGRESS

Farmer wins TV for killing record number of rats in Bangladesh.

Mokhairul Islam, a 40-year-old farmer, has won a colour TV after being named the most successful rat killer in Bangladesh.

The 40-year-old farmer disposed of 83,450 rats from January to September — more than double the number notched up by last year’s winner, according to the Bangladeshi Agriculture Department. Proof of his accomplishment came in the form of 83,450 rat’s tails delivered by Mr Islam to local officials.

“Rodents are the most feared enemy for farmers, so it is an honour to win this prize,” he said.

He used traps, poison, electric barriers and flooding. “The rats ravage our farms. I’ve seen it time and time again, first-hand. If I see one, I don’t even stop to think. I just go for it and kill it. I’m saving myself and my livelihood,” he said.
The competition aims to reduce the damage done to crops in the impoverished land, with an estimated 6.5 million rats killed this year. The Government estimates that as much as 10 per cent of Bangladesh’s annual harvest of rice, wheat and potatoes is devoured by rodents.

A plague of rats in the southeastern Chittagong region last year led to famine in remote villages, forcing the World Food Programme to distribute aid to 120,000 people for four months after they were reduced to eating wild roots.

VICTORY! AMERICAN HERO 1ST LT. EHREN WATADA UNITED STATES ARMY

First Lt. Ehren Watada, the first commissioned military officer to refuse deployment to Iraq because he believed it was an illegal war, has won his three-year legal battle with the Army.
With little fanfare the Army at Fort Lewis, Wash., accepted the resignation of the 1996 Kalani High School graduate, and he will be discharged the first week in October.

Rather than seek a second court-martial against the artillery officer, the Army will grant Watada a discharge under "other than honorable conditions."

Joseph J. Piek, Fort Lewis spokesman, said, "This is an administrative discharge, and the characterization of Lt. Watada's discharge is not releasable under the privacy act."

Watada, 31, told the Star-Bulletin in a phone interview yesterday that he was "glad to finally bring this chapter to a close and to move on."

"The actual outcome is different from the outcome that I envisioned in the first place, but I am grateful of the outcome."
Watada said he was "thankful to the people from all walks of life that supported me and agreed with my stand."

In May, Watada won a significant legal victory when the U.S. Department of Justice dropped efforts to retry him. The Army had wanted to appeal U.S. District Judge Benjamin Settle's decision last October that a second court-martial would violate Watada's constitutional protection against double jeopardy.
Following the Justice Department's decision, the Army made it clear the only course available to Watada is what the Army calls "resignation for the good of the service in lieu of general court-martial," Watada said yesterday.
Watada could either voluntarily resign or be forced out with a discharge "under other than honorable conditions."
Watada said the result would be the same, except it would take longer if he was forced out.

Ken Kagan, one of Watada's Seattle attorneys, said last night, "Lt. Watada had previously tendered his resignation on more than one occasion, and each time, it was rejected. This time, however, it was accepted, apparently only when the Army realized it could not defeat Lt. Watada in a courtroom."
Kagan described Watada as "a hero and a patriot. Lt. Watada took a lonely stand as a matter of conscience, never attempted to spread discord within the ranks and never sought to evangelize about his ethical convictions. More importantly, he never disparaged the service and the sacrifices made by countless other soldiers and officers who obeyed their orders. He realized that each member of the armed forces must make her or his own decision, according to the dictates of conscience, just as he did. He always understood it to be an intensely personal decision.
"It is our belief that history will treat Lt. Watada far more favorably than the United States Army sees fit to regard him now."

Watada said he turned in his resignation papers in July, and they were approved by the commanding general at Fort Lewis and sent to his higher headquarters. Watada learned of the Army's final approval on Sept. 16.
Watada said that he does not know whether he will stay in the Pacific Northwest, where he attended Whitworth College, or return to the islands.

Before he was charged, Watada, an artillery officer, had requested to be assigned to Afghanistan instead of Iraq and even offered to resign from the Army. Both requests were denied.
Initially, Watada was charged with missing the 2nd Infantry Division's 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team's deployment on June 22, 2006, considered by the Army as the most serious charge, and conduct unbec- oming an officer.

Watada participated in anti-war rallies here and on the mainland and held numerous interviews denouncing Bush. Two of those activities were the basis of the charges of conduct unbecoming an officer. Conviction on all counts would have meant six years in prison and a dishonorable discharge.
One of his biggest supporters was his father, Bob Watada, who retired to farm in Eugene, Ore.
"I am very happy he is getting out," the elder Watada said, "and getting on with his life.
"I firmly believe he did the right thing. I supported him all the way, and I continue to support him."

Watada's first court-martial ended in a mistrial in February 2007 when military judge Lt. Col. John Head believed that Watada did not understand the terms of a plea agreement. He had been charged with denouncing President George W. Bush and the Iraq war and refusing to join his Stryker brigade unit when it deployed.

The mistrial occurred before Watada's attorney could put on a defense.
To block a second court-martial, Watada's attorneys sued in U.S. District Court.

The Army had been contemplating prosecuting Watada for his anti-war sentiments, citing statements against the war and Bush that were not part of the original court-martial. Watada could have been court-martialed for conduct unbecoming an officer for making those statements.
However, Piek said yesterday, the last two remaining specifications under Article 133, conduct unbecoming an officer, have been dismissed.
Watada, who has been working a desk job since the mistrial, was supposed to have been discharged on December 2006, but his legal proceedings have kept him at Fort Lewis' I Corps.

The 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team served three combat tours in Iraq.

LOSING MY RELIGION BY PRESIDENT CARTER

"Women and girls have been discriminated against for too long in a twisted interpretation of the word of God.Women and girls have been discriminated against for too long in a twisted interpretation of the word of God.

I HAVE been a practicing Christian all my life and a deacon and Bible teacher for many years. My faith is a source of strength and comfort to me, as religious beliefs are to hundreds of millions of people around the world. So my decision to sever my ties with the Southern Baptist Convention, after six decades, was painful and difficult. It was, however, an unavoidable decision when the convention's leaders, quoting a few carefully selected Bible verses and claiming that Eve was created second to Adam and was responsible for original sin, ordained that women must be "subservient" to their husbands and prohibited from serving as deacons, pastors or chaplains in the military service.

This view that women are somehow inferior to men is not restricted to one religion or belief. Women are prevented from playing a full and equal role in many faiths. Nor, tragically, does its influence stop at the walls of the church, mosque, synagogue or temple. This discrimination, unjustifiably attributed to a Higher Authority, has provided a reason or excuse for the deprivation of women's equal rights across the world for centuries.

At its most repugnant, the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities.

The impact of these religious beliefs touches every aspect of our lives. They help explain why in many countries boys are educated before girls; why girls are told when and whom they must marry; and why many face enormous and unacceptable risks in pregnancy and childbirth because their basic health needs are not met.

In some Islamic nations, women are restricted in their movements, punished for permitting the exposure of an arm or ankle, deprived of education, prohibited from driving a car or competing with men for a job. If a woman is raped, she is often most severely punished as the guilty party in the crime.

The same discriminatory thinking lies behind the continuing gender gap in pay and why there are still so few women in office in the West. The root of this prejudice lies deep in our histories, but its impact is felt every day. It is not women and girls alone who suffer. It damages all of us. The evidence shows that investing in women and girls delivers major benefits for society. An educated woman has healthier children. She is more likely to send them to school. She earns more and invests what she earns in her family.

It is simply self-defeating for any community to discriminate against half its population. We need to challenge these self-serving and outdated attitudes and practices - as we are seeing in Iran where women are at the forefront of the battle for democracy and freedom.

I understand, however, why many political leaders can be reluctant about stepping into this minefield. Religion, and tradition, are powerful and sensitive areas to challenge. But my fellow Elders and I, who come from many faiths and backgrounds, no longer need to worry about winning votes or avoiding controversy - and we are deeply committed to challenging injustice wherever we see it.

The Elders are an independent group of eminent global leaders, brought together by former South African president Nelson Mandela, who offer their influence and experience to support peace building, help address major causes of human suffering and promote the shared interests of humanity. We have decided to draw particular attention to the responsibility of religious and traditional leaders in ensuring equality and human rights and have recently published a statement that declares: "The justification of discrimination against women and girls on grounds of religion or tradition, as if it were prescribed by a Higher Authority, is unacceptable."

We are calling on all leaders to challenge and change the harmful teachings and practices, no matter how ingrained, which justify discrimination against women. We ask, in particular, that leaders of all religions have the courage to acknowledge and emphasis the positive messages of dignity and equality that all the world's major faiths share.

The carefully selected verses found in the Holy Scriptures to justify the superiority of men owe more to time and place - and the determination of male leaders to hold onto their influence - than eternal truths. Similar biblical excerpts could be found to support the approval of slavery and the timid acquiescence to oppressive rulers.

I am also familiar with vivid descriptions in the same Scriptures in which women are revered as pre-eminent leaders. During the years of the early Christian church women served as deacons, priests, bishops, apostles, teachers and prophets. It wasn't until the fourth century that dominant Christian leaders, all men, twisted and distorted Holy Scriptures to perpetuate their ascendant positions within the religious hierarchy.

The truth is that male religious leaders have had - and still have - an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women. They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter. Their continuing choice provides the foundation or justification for much of the pervasive persecution and abuse of women throughout the world. This is in clear violation not just of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights but also the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul, Moses and the prophets, Muhammad, and founders of other great religions - all of whom have called for proper and equitable treatment of all the children of God. It is time we had the courage to challenge these views."
by President Carter.

Contrast this please from Rush Limbaugh's "Female Summit" on Feb. 25th.
"RUSH: We are starting on our Female Summit today with a call from Dee in San Diego. Dee, welcome. You're first up on the Female Summit today. Great to have you here.

CALLER: Well, thanks for having me, and it's a true, true honor. I owe my listening to my father. I have to give him the accolades 'cause he accused me of being a liberal vegetarian, and told me I had to stop listening to NPR and listen to you at least one hour a day. So I started eight years ago and I've been hooked. But getting to the point of my friends and associates who are females and their dislike of you and your program, it does have to do with I guess their view of you being pompous and --

RUSH: Are these friends of yours like-minded? Are they conservatives?

CALLER: Yes. I have like-minded conservatives and one in particular, you know, she just really detests your program, and she has family members --

RUSH: She ever listen to it?

CALLER: She has listened to it once, and I was telling your screener that I think you made a great, great point when you said you have to listen for at least three weeks --

RUSH: Six.

CALLER: -- to really get the gist.

RUSH: Six weeks.

CALLER: -- of the show.

RUSH: Six weeks. Three weeks not enough.

CALLER: All right.

RUSH: Yeah, six weeks.

CALLER: Okay, six weeks. And I've not been able to get her to listen. Also, she's a schoolteacher. Believe it or not, a conservative schoolteacher.

RUSH: All right. See, now, this is something about which I can do nothing.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Here's a woman who's listened to me one time, she thinks I'm pompous. She's a schoolteacher, she's willing to profess her own ignorance by saying I'm pompous after having listened to one day, and she's out teaching kids? This woman is a menace to society." Original Source (It is Rush's own site, you can take my word for it if you don't want to give him a hit).

And why did Rush call a "Female Summit"?
"The Female Summit is the result of a poll, a national poll by a North Carolina group of Democrats called the Public Policy Polling group, PPP. They did a national poll on me. They found out I have a 46% approval rating, a 43% disapproval, but I've got a huge gender gap, far more men approve of me than do women. The percentage of women that approve versus disapprove coupled with the male approval, disapproval, equals a gender gap of minus 31 points." (same source as above)

Which just further proves Women are smarter.

Peace.
